ALPINE LIONS CLUB
& FRONTIER MASONIC LODGE #766
CO-HOST SECOND ANNUAL
TEXAS INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Saturday, March 8, 2008
The Alpine Lions Club, along with the
Frontier Masonic Lodge #766 of Alpine, will host the Second Annual
Texas Independence Day Celebration. Among the
activities will be an essay contests in the elementary, middle, and high school.
Other activities included a poster and tee shirt design contest, as
well as, a parade on Saturday. Awards
and scholarships will be awarded to area students. The celebration
begins with a parade through downtown Alpine, ending at the
Alpine Middle School where numerous proclamations will be read by area
elected officials. Mr. Larry Francell, Director of the Museum of the Big Bend will speak. Winners of the various contests will be announced and there will be drawing for the raffle prize. The Community Concert Band and Sul Ross State University Choir will perform as part of the activities. A complete listing of activities can be found on the Activities Page.

DISTRICT CABINET DATES:
The District 2-T3 Mid-Winter Conference is to be held January 25-26 in El Paso, Texas. There will be a special Friday Night Dinner with the District Governor at the Cattle Barons Restaurant. On Saturday the regular Cabinet meeting will be held, and at the same time, the various District Youth Contests will be held. Winners of the contests will be announced at the Noon Luncheon. A great time is anticipated and we hope you will attend. The Conference will meet at the Windham Hotel (El Paso Airport). Continue supporting DG Pete Francis as he serves his year as district governor.
